Six checks before you buy

• Ask whether rooms live in a CMS collection or are drawn as fixed pages. A template with five hand built suite pages looks identical to a CMS one in the demo, and becomes a rebuild the day you add a sixth room or change a rate line.
• Open the demo on your own phone, not in the browser resize tool. Many templates are one desktop layout squeezed down, which shows up as cropped photography, a hero that pushes the first line of copy below the fold, and a menu that buries the enquiry button.
• Find out exactly how booking is handled. Some templates embed a booking engine widget, some link out to a channel, some use a private enquiry form. Each is defensible, none is neutral, and the wrong one for your property is expensive to unpick later.
• Count the pages that actually exist, not the sections on the home page. A hotel needs a story page, a suites index, a suite detail template, an experiences or dining page, a journal, an enquiry flow, privacy, terms, and a 404 that is not the platform default.
• Read the licence before the visuals persuade you. Look for how many live sites it covers, whether client work is permitted if you are a studio, whether the demo photography is included or only placeheld, and whether resale of a modified version is forbidden.
• Ask who answers when something breaks in eight months. A named studio with a public address is a different proposition from an anonymous marketplace handle, and the answer changes what the price is really buying.

What the demo will not tell you

Template or commission

• A template is a finished argument about how a property should be presented. If that argument matches yours, you save weeks and thousands. If it does not, you will fight the layout on every page and end with something worse than either route alone.
• Commissioned work starts from your property: the plan of the house, the way guests actually arrive, the two photographs that carry the whole brand. A Saint Ego website designed from zero is quoted per project and takes real weeks of production.
• Templates are strongest when your inventory is small and stable, your photography is good, and your positioning is already clear in your own words. They are weakest when you need a reservation system integrated, several languages, or a structure nobody has built before.
• The honest middle path is a template customised properly: your typefaces, your palette, your words, your images, your page order. That takes a few days of attention, and it is the difference between a site that looks bought and one that looks made.
• Price is not the whole cost. Add photography, copywriting, the hours of your own time, and the licence for anything the demo used, then compare the two routes again.

Status and prices

Where the hospitality Edition sits

• The hospitality Edition is the first Edition, drawn for boutique hotels, private villas and guest houses. It is in development. There is no checkout and no remix link today, and we will not pretend otherwise to catch a search.
• It is designed against the checks on this page: suites and journal in CMS collections, desktop and mobile drawn as two separate layouts, a private enquiry flow rather than an aggressive booking bar, and eleven pages including a designed 404.
• It will not be the right answer for a resort with two hundred keys, a group with a central reservation system to integrate, or a property that needs four languages on day one. Those are commissions, not templates.
• Vellum for medspa, dermatology and longevity clinics and Atelier for architecture, interiors and furniture studios are both in design behind it.
